The Spokes People

Over nearly 15 years, The Spokes People have become one of Sydney's premier cycling event organisers. We started with humble grassroots exhibitions and alley-cat races, and have expanded to host a range of NSW cyclocross events, culminating in two successive years of harbour-side criteriums under the lights at The White Bay Cruise Terminal.

The Spokes People, Nicholas Bonich and myself, conceived, organised, promoted, and ran each and every event. From event concepts to funding, design to promotion, and even the physical bumping in & out. The Spokes People was a tiny but mighty combination, capable of almost anything.

Of all the events we produced, Criterium White Bay was by the far the largest and most complex. High profile cycling events had long since faded away from the city, instead operated only in rural areas or outer suburbs. Our intention was to bring racing back to the heart of the city, with our iconic harbour and city skyline as its backdrop.

Every TSP event came with a full suite of assets. Promotional websites, social media campaigns, and custom merchandise. The intention was always to deliver the most immersive and memorable experience possible.
